Carnaval SoccerFest Stars Lead USA to Victory

PUERTO VALLARTA, MEXICO - The US Beach Soccer National Team kicked off the 2008 CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship in style with a 7-2 victory over Costa Rica. A win on Friday against El Salvador would guarantee the United States their 3rd consecutive trip to the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup. The 2008 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup will be held in Marseille, France in July.

Jevin Albuquerque and Mario Anthony Chimienti scored two goals each while Ronald Silva, Brendon Taguinod and Yuri Morales added goals for the two-time defending CONCACAF champions. All seven of the goals scored by the US team were scored by players who will be making appearances at Carnaval SoccerFest 2008. In addition the starting goalkeeper for the US, Luis Montanez, will also be making an appearance SoccerFest.
